
KNEC to release 2024 KPSEA results Today, Monday
Nairobi, Kenya Jan 6– Cabinet Secretary Julius Migos announced that the 1,303,913 candidates who sat for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) to get their results this Monday, January 6, 2025.
The exams were administered between October 28 and November 1, 2024, and the students sat for five subjects: English, Kiswahili, Mathematics, Creative Arts, and Integrated Science and Social Studies.
The candidates are expected to receive their results in a report form in their respective schools.
CS Migos, in a press statement, stated, “The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment learner reports will be accessible on school portals in the week commencing January 6, 2025.”
The schools are expected to download and print the results in report form and issue them to parents for free.
The reports are expected to come in two KPSEA reports, one for the learners and the other for schools.
There will not be a ranking of KPSEA learners, but there will be a 20 per cent score from KPSEA, which will be combined with 20 per cent of school-based assessment in grade 7 and a 60 per cent summative evaluation (KJSEA) to be administered at the end of Grade 9.
KPSEA will focus on learners’ competencies across nine learning areas, which include mathematics, English, Kiswahili, Integrated Science and Social Studies, and Creative Arts.
Integrated Science was one paper that combined Science and Technology, Agriculture, Home Science and Physical Health and Education.
Social Studies and Creative Arts was a paper that combined Social Studies, Religious Studies (CRE/IRE/HRE), Arts and Crafts, and Music and Physical Education.
The Ministry announced that term one of 2025 will be 13 weeks long, with a 5-day midterm break.
All schools are expected to re-open for the first term on Monday, January 6, 2025.
One million three hundred thirteen thousand nine hundred thirteen candidates sat for KPSEA across the country last year in 35,573 examination centres.
“To ensure a seamless transition to Grade 9, the government initiated the construction of 16,000 classrooms countrywide in four phases. Thus far, The completion status is 93 per cent,” the Ministry noted in a statement.
The Education cabinet secretary also confirmed that 9,926,618 textbooks have been dispatched to schools countrywide.
“The distribution is expected to be complete by Monday, January 6, 2025, to facilitate smooth academic operations,” said CS Migos.
